There is currently one kindergarten, started by Operation Mercy in cooperation with Community Based Organizations (CBO's) that host the students and hire the teachers to be trained by Operation Mercy. The teacher training takes two full years, and supervision can continue for a further two years as requested by the local CBO. There are currently 31 children benefiting from the education. The summer of 2009 we plan to start with the teacher training of 2-3 other kindergartens in the EL Jiza Area.
GOALS:
To equip and train the new kindergarten teachers toimplement the 'Root Program' multi- intellectual approach
To Stimulate individual growth for each child through their learning styles
To encourage the development of a whole child through early child education using the Montessori method of multi-intellectual education, this enhances the children's creativity and motivation for learning: entitled 'Root Program'
Impact on Lives & Communities Kindergarten teachers are trained to deliver effective education. The children's motivation to learn is stimulated from within. The individual child is valued; each child's potential is discerned and drawn out. The foundations of a healthy personal social and academic growth are laid.
