Active Image In response to the invitation given by the Dalit community in 2001, OMIF has so far started the construction and development of more than 100 Dalit Education Centres (DEC's). The initial target of 100 was reached  2010. The 102 schools cater to over 22,000 children. Students receive books and uniforms. DEC staff members maintain high academic standards and teach a government approved curriculum based on human dignity and social equality.
Active Image The Children receive quality primary education in English, provision of uniforms and school books. This education is with a worldview based on human worth, freedom and dignity. They also receive education in health and hygiene including disease prevention. Dalit Parents also receive health advice including HIV/AIDS awareness and family planning. Medical assistance is available as well as literacy & vocational training and women's empowerment seminars
